Default Header Install advice please? - Halfway, Updated!!

I'm halfway through my headers, have the Y removed, cats removed, driver side manifold out, 1 bolt left on the passanger side manifold. EGR and AIR deleted. I have the car lifted very high ( 3 ton floor jack, and a 2x8 ). I cannot slip the driver side header in due to what I believe to be the steering shaft.

There's one bolt on the steering shaft that I can see, but I don't want to remove it if it's potentially going to be damaging to anything.

#1 Is the one bolt that's clearly visible on top the bolt I need to remove?
#2 What part of "heed the warning" does the stickied post refer to?

Passanger side.. I cannot remove the oil dipstick, even though we are 99% sure we removed the bolt. Any suggestions?

Any and all help will be appreciated!!

what brand of headers are going in? the driver's side needs to be at a 90* to the ground.

for the dipstick, just pull hard on it. it will come out. it's held in by an o-ring.

My driver side mac went in from the top after I took of the coil packs and took out the steering linkage.

I had the same problem with the dipstick tube and there was no way it was coming out by just pulling on it. It finally came out after pulling the starter and heating up the tube. I spent more time on getting the old dipstick tube out then I did completely removing the old exhaust and putting the new stuff on.

The headers are Edelbrock's Victor Series LTs.

Pulling on the tube isn't working (4 people have tried). I'll have to consider the starter/heat idea.

I'm having problems with the header hitting the steering linkage. I've removed the two bolts, and even hitting it with a 5lb sledge, it won't come off. Are there any tips or tricks to this nonsense?
