Default Dont know how to wire ecutout. Help please!

Hi, i recently bought a electric cutout from DMH.
Its installed and everything but all i need to do is the wiring. I have already put the wire through and under the console, now i need to hook up the wiring to make the switch work.

the switch has 2 wires. One pinkish colored. and the other one is black.
where do i hook the wires to? i hear you can connect it to the traction control switch, but i do not know which wires to splice.

can you splice the switch to the cig lighter?
pictures and descriptions will help a lot.

you can splice the tcs ... if you do, it also has the pinkish wire and black wire .. so you know where to connect each of your cutout wires to ..

black wire to black wire with white stripe

i also tried to connect the wires in to the back of the cig lighter
it was:
pinkish to cig lighter pinkish (sort of faded red)
black to cig lighter black wire.

any other ideas?

Ok, Ok, all you need to find is a switched, 12 volt ignition source. The best place for this would be coming out of the fuse block or a fan relay. Just go to a relay and find out which one is switched iginition, and slice into that. Problem solved. That way you won't have to worry about draing the battery and you won't pop any fuses.

Oh, and the black wire goes to ground, either to the chassis or engine.

hm.... i'll give that a try tomrrow. ok so:
pink wire to somthing in fuse box that turns off when the car turns off.
with the pink wire to the fuse box, do i have to find the wire behind the box? or can i wire right into the fuse box (like where the fuse plugs go in).

pink to brown
black to GROUND (as in metal part of chassis or engine. find a bolt that goes into metal and use a round connector at the end of the wire. put the bolt through the round opening)

Ok, Do a quick testg to make sure the thing isn't blown. Put the black on the negative battery terminal and then touch the pink to the positive. This will let you know if the thing is burned out or not.

omfg. it freaking works!

really really really stupid thing.
ok here goes the story.
i went out side to try it one more time. i wired it to the cig lighter and it didnt work.
so i jacked up the car, removed the electric cutout. i was curious and opened the hood. hooked the cutout to the battery and pressed the button. nothing happened again.
i was mad at this point. i kept pressing and pressing. i picked up the cutout and giggled it and twisted the motor part to see if some persuasiveness would help.

then all of a sudden the cutout starts to move. i was like wtf! i went to the car and took the cig lighter wires and connected the cutout to it to see if it would work.
guess what, it worked. i was confused... i preseed the button again and again. it worked fine, i couldnt figure it out. then the cutout slipped off my legs and feel on the floor of the car. i pressed the button and it didnt work now! i thought i broke the damn thing!

here was the problem:
the tension from the wire going from the cutout to the plug was to tight. i think
when the wire was tight (straight) the motor would not work. when the wire was slack it worked. i guess turning the motor moved the wire to a side where there wasnt to much tension.

basiclly that was really dumb... but thanks a lot guys for all the help! i usually do all my own wiring when it comes to my car and i was feeling a bit down when i couldnt get something like this..
but thanks a lot.

yep, it works and its loud! i love it. sounds nice, things rattle in my car. haha. i dont think my gf will like it to much, luckily i have a button. next step now is to find a spot to put the switch. ash tray will be good.
