y pipe is hitting need help

Default y pipe is hitting need help

i have a custom 3in y pipe and it is hitting the bottom of my car. do i need to put on polly motor mounts or what else is there to do? thanks for the help

my brother would bang when he was in high RPM and shift (racing) so he had it welded, that fixed the problem. Hopefully i will not have that problem as i will installing LT soon

poly motor mounts will stop it asap i love em just had the same problem 2 weeks ago

Poly or solid motor mounts should cure the problem. I figure that since you are under there why not get some for the transmission as well.

i just had a valve spring welded on the left side between the pibe and bottom of the car

Do you have ANY clearance without the motor running? My y-pipe had no clearance after I installed the poly motor mounts because the mounts themselves raised the engine/tranny assembly 1/2". I removed the y-pipe and crushed it in a vise about 1/2" total. After reinstall I have about 1/4" of clearance and no banging issues what so ever.
