Cool temperature the same as before

I have a 99' trans am, i recently replaced the thermostad with a hypertech 160~,hypertech PP3 tuning, a manual override switch for my fans and replaced the radiator fluid. Now my temp. sensor is on and the water temp. is @ stock 215~ as before. I am sorta new on here i really appreciate some help...

The gauges from 99-02 are more or less a idiot light the 98's are the only ones that tell the right temp. If you have a scaning program (hptuner) you can see what its realy running at.

Or you'll have to throw in an aftermarket gauge.

Just order you an Autometer water temp. gauge in whatever style you want. You can put it in a pillar-pod or custom mount it somewhere. Mine is in the A-pillar pod along with my tranny temp. gauge.

Where would you get the temp reading from? I mean where would the sending unit go?

You can put it in the pass. side cylinder head, the plug is above the #6 cylinder, drill and tap the flat spot on the water pump, drop the starter and replace the plug above it with the sending unit, or do what I'm going to do: get a small "T" fitting and place it in the coolant line going from the heads to the TB. This seems like the easist route, and you don't have to have any pipe adapters to adapt the sending unit to fit the block.
