I think you mean, like the 3rd Generation IrocZ, Z28, GTA, or Trans Am.
If you where to go to performance shop with the proper pipe benders and the proper exhaust welding tools, you could have someone make one for you. Just buy a Y-Pipe and there's youre start.
Youre going to have to lift up car, and go from there.
Taking measurments, and so on and so forth. You wouldnt need alot of tubing, just a couple of the right bends.

International Race Of Champions = IROC.......4 times a year Firebirds race at 4 different tracks...have been using birds for years..before it was Camaros...at one time it was Porsche 911's........GO TO IROC.COM and look at the side exhaust...basically they are DR.GAS Boom Tube Side Exits...flat pipe straight off headers joined together in a flat cone style exiting right at the side......LOUD..

I thought about this a while bak also. I would consider making my own side pipe. Take the diameter you want, remove the side trim from the car and then gently bend the pipe to match the shape. Then cut out a lengthwise section, flip it over and weld it back in. This will allow you to tuck the whole pipe up closer to the car (maybe 1/2?) and make it more custom looking. Once done, have the whole thing chromed or painted.

I think if the proportions and finish are right, this will look pretty good. Much better than the generic chrome side pipes that are sold.
