Default Running hot. Please help

My car and tranny are running at 210+. Any idea what I can do to get them to run cooler. I have the manual fan switch, but haven't put it on yet. Will that help? Can I mount my tranny cooler on the condensor even though I have the ssra. Will it still get good enough airflow?

well, the SSRA might no be helping at all. Im suprised to see you getting that hot with the cooler as well... how hot is it outside?

FIRST things first, make sure you are not low on coolant, and that something is not caught on the radiator (ive had plastic bags get lodged up there from parking lots before)

Definetly get those fans on sooner! It will help so much. If you're car is constantly running this hot, even when driving, then there may be another issue, but if it is just getting hot at a stop, then have the fans come on earlier. It can be programmed with many different programmers!

Made a world of difference for me!

Ya it doesnt seem like the high speed of the fans ever comes on no matter how hot it gets. I know Im not low on coolant I just checked that a few days ago. It will cool off a little bit once I start driving, but the transmission takes getting up to freeway speeds to cool off. I have the cooler mounted behind the opening under the turn signal. Anyone else have any ideas?

Before my tune, my fans got to the point where they never kicked on high either. The car did not over heat, but it got to the point where I'd stick by hand down behind them just to make sure they were even on low. After the tune they come on all the time and keep the car at about 175-180 constantly.

I have a lot of the same mods you have, including the cooler mounted horizontally dope style. I have the crappy gauge, but it would sometimes climb above 210 sitting at long lights in the hot Florida heat after my FTRA install (especially with no AC on/t-tops off). Anyway, installing a SLP fan switch helped temporarily until I got something to program the fans to come on earlier - now I don't need to use the switch. Check all the other overheating things too, could be as simple as a bad radiator cap not holding pressure.

I wasnt having these problems until I got the car back from the shop when I had the tranny installed. Ever since then it has been doing this. I am not leaking any fluid, and all the fluids are at the correct levels. I have a 160 thermostat that was installed like 2 years ago. Any other ideas?

Well I looked and the thermostat was installed like 4 years ago, and I am not sure if it was even a 160. Is it possible that there is too much antifreeze and not enought water? I put the manual fan switch on and it turns out that my fans were on high, so WTF?? Why am I running hot? Is it possible that the thermostat sticks? Once the car gets up to temp, it never drops below 180-200 no matter what. It used to run just over 160 all the time. The funny thing is is that this didnt start happening until I got my car back from the shop when I did the tranny. PLEASE HELP!!!

A few years ago, mine started running hotter than usual and only cooled off when I was going at 45mph or higher. I took it to a shop and they replaced the water pump and the thermostat. It has run fine ever since. I'm wondering if your water pump might be the culprit, but I'm not sure.

Might want to stand beside the car while it's running with the cap off and trickle more and more and more water in untill it can't take any more. This is FREE and might fix your problem.
