Default Yet another question about the Loudmouth.

I have been reading a bunch of post about people getting the Loudmouth Cat-Back system. Well I was originally thinking about getting this system but have read that it is excessively loud. I was talking to my dad today about it (he is a cop) and said that I could be given a ticket for improper exhaust; this would be pretty obvious if my car was REALLY LOUD. So was thinking of just getting the Loud Mouth and replacing the resonator with a flowmaster muffler. Would this totally defeat the purpose of buying the Loudmouth?(I mean could I just buy the flowmaster muffler and put it in place of the stock muffler?) I would really like a deep muscle car sound, but not an over excessive one. Any ideas would be helpfull. Oh yeah I have a 2001, WS.6 T/A. (Sorry for so long )

As long as you don't do headers, your all set, don't worry about it. If you plan to do h/c and long tubes then buy another exhaust. If not you WILL be changing the Loud Mouth or getting rid of it all together.

With long tubes and a h/c swap it is louder than you could picture.

I'm planning on buying a hooker cat-back. I like the sound of it. Also I heard magnaflow is pretty good too.

I agree w/ MOBE, don't buy the LM if you're going to buy LT's. I know for sure the hooker catback can't be beat after hooker LT's & ORY-PIPE are installed.

Let us not forget that the Hooker is flanged so you can drop it for track duty and save all that weight My roomate just got one and I must say I am impressed with it. He has macs, gutted cats, and the hooker - used to have macs, gutted cats and the loudmouth Talk about annoying.

Well, ya'll have just about sold me on the Hooker system. I have nothing but good things about (as opposed to the mixed opinions on the LM) Not only that but being a poor college kid, it would be nice to save $$$ anyway. Thanks guys.

I'm going to put this bluntly...

Forget about the $HITY sounding LM and get a Hooker Cat-back. If you end up doing longtubes, off-road pipes, and other mods you will have to ditch the LM anyway because it will sound even $HITIER.

The price is awesome and so is the sound of the Hooker. It has that deep muscle car sound you are looking for, but isn't too loud. It is very tame at idle and cruising speed, but really wakes up when you put your foot into it.

I use to have one on my car before the true duals went on. Now its loud as hell and I can't hear the voices in my head anymore.

Well, thats my 2 cents. Take it for what its worth.

I loved it with a stock setup. I have had LT's less than a week and the jury is still out. It sounds mean as hell over 2500 rpms. May go true dual.

I had loudmouth until I got headers without cats.

There is ALWAYS a drone, headers or not, which gets VERY annoying on long trips...

Now I have Magnaflow. I got it for $330 shipped. If I would have known how good this system was, I would have had it from day 1.

It is actually less expensive than hooker or LM, and looks and sounds great. Fully stainless steel, and nice polished tips...

I would go with Magnaflow, you WILL NOT be dissapointed.

yes, i think that would totally defeat the purpose.

I dont think LM is that loud as long as you have stock cats
