Default Which cat-back dyno's highest

So which is it...I'm looking for a cat-back for my 02 WS6 and I would like to know what kind of gains some give...Im looking for performance mainly, and sound second. I was leaning towards the random tech. Thanks

GMMG inc. will give you awesome gains. And sounds nasty too. I've been looking for a clip of the random tech. But the RT won't give you highest gains. The loudmouth, and GMMG will dyno highest, since they used resonaters instead of a muffler. Hooker's cabtack flows good for a muffler type catback and sounds nasty also.

I'm sure the Random Technology catback will give you just as much horsepower as any other catback since it's a straight through design muffler.

Asking this question in this forum is like asking "Who has the best cam?" in Internal Mods. The truth is that all of the better systems (better not always meaning more expensive) the gains will be about the same with almost no seat of the pants difference. That should make some people yell. What you need to decide is what kind of sound and look you are looking for. Just don't get a Flowdisaster.

Before my Hooker cat-back, I dyno'ed at 321rwhp. After the Hooker install, I dyno'ed 462rwhp. That's a difference of 131 horsepower. Not too shabby....

P.S. There's a chance the ATI Procharger installed the same day was responsible for a small portion of that gain

Damn, you are right! It is 141. I'm gonna go drive it now to see if it feels 10 horsepower stronger

But seriously, I really do like the Hooker cat-back. I tried Magnaflow and didn't care for that. I then put on a cut-out, and I hated that. When the ATI went on, I put the Hooker on. It's too cheap not to try! And when I first drove it, I said "yep, that's the one!"

Here's an exhaust clip of my car w/ Hooker catback. It's stock exhause manifolds and cats.

Just ignore the ATI noise...

Find a used Borla, you can change the sound in 5 minutes. If not that, go with a hooker. Everyone seems to love it. Autozone sells it for 279 from other posts on this board. I think those resonator exhausts sound very old school trashy, like a glasspack on a montecarlo or something. JMHO>

Where did you find the magnaflow for $300? I saw it for $400 and something. Yeah i would also like some soundclips and some dyno numbers vs the hooker numbers? Thanks

Random Tech for about $320.
Nice sound when cruising and loud when to romp on it. Gain of 16rwhp and 14rwtq.

Buy the exhaust that so sounds best to you. HP is not gonna vary that much.

Persoanlly I like my Corsa because I hate drone or exhaust that is loud 24/7. I only want it loud when I lean into it

Yes, anyone with a random tech sound clip that would be awesome. I wanna see the gains on a WS6 tho, cause of our already high flowing exhaust, or does that not really matter all that much??? Thanks man.
