Loudmouth Rattling
My Loudmouth is rattling. I have tried to tighten everything up, but it seems to not help. Is it possible that it is actually banging up against the car? I would think that I would notice that. I have stock manifolds, stock cats and y-pipe. The only exhaust mod is the Loudmouth. Is this a common problem? It is really noticeable at low RPM's when I first get on it or when the car is decelerating. Any help with this would be great. I am going to be back underneath the car again tomorrow.

Re: Loudmouth Rattling
Where is the heat shield? It almost sounds like the rattle is coming from the connection of the Loudmouth and th I-Pipe. The hangers should all be good, the system is only about 6 months old.

Loudmouth...
Just kidding... check all the hangers and see if you can move it yourself. If it's secure, maybe get an Autotap and see if you're getting any KR, banging against the floorpan or somewhere else. Unlikely though.

I have had my LM for 3-4 months no problems. But just the other week it started to rattle and it is VERY loud! I have yet to get under the car because I just didnt have the time, so let me know what you did to stop the rattle. Thanks!!!

Re: Loudmouth Rattling
mine rattled 20 minutes after install. drove me nuts! it was fine when it was coldd but then after she warmed up every road imperfection caused it. i would kick the tailpipes (hot) it would rattle. i kicked them when it was cold and no rattle. so one day i went out for some spirited driving...got home ... jacked it up while it was running. then i put my gloves on and shut her down. a couple of shake and shimmies and i found the cause. it was the band strap on the i-pipe at the y. the rattle was actually the pipe twisting at the connection. i re tightened the strap with a 1/2" drive instead os a 3/8" and problem gone!
sorry so long.... yo just got to simulate the cause the best you can and get under there it'll be something simple.
ps. if i misspelled some words im sorry pro stock john! i tri 2 due beter next time i promiss!

Re: Loudmouth Rattling
I found the rattle, it was the band that bolts the Loudmouth the stock exhaust. I am happy, for the time being. Thanks for your suggestions.

Re: Loudmouth Rattling
I had a horrible rattle from the my LoudMouth that sounded exactly like the heat shield, but I couldn't find the problem. Finally found it -- the Y pipe had asplit right at the Y. Had a friend weld it and I've been to go ever since.
