Why Do Macs Rasp Really Bad?
Is it the ball connections or collector? I am gonna install macs with ory with flowmaster collector. The catback is a 3" single i/o dynomax ultraflow rectanglular shaped muffler that is about the same size as the stock muffler. Will this combo have bad rasp. I bought the biggest ultraflo muffler because I was worried about the rasp.
BTW the ycollector on the macs is not 3" in diamter like they advertise. More like 2.75"

Re: Why Do Macs Rasp Really Bad?
A lot of people do complain about the bad rasp of Mac's with the ory, but then again I've heard(in person) plenty of other longtube headers with ory's or off-road pipes that rasped just as bad.
The Flowmaster collector should help kill a little of it.
But it's mostly a no cat issue. Because with cats, Mac's don't rasp(nor do any other headers).

Re: Why Do Macs Rasp Really Bad?
Yeah, it sounds like the rasp is due to the ypipe. I wonder if an equal length y would cure the rasp. Supposedly an equal length y would sound like an xpipe. Id try it if I had the money. The reason I went with macs was to save a couple of bucks.
I just hope a bigger muffler will quiet it down. Another thing I though of tryin was runnin 3 bullets. 2 2.5" bullets in the y and one 3" bullet in the Ipipe.
