Default electric borla?

Has anybody put an electric cutout valve where the blockoff plate goes? I just got a borla catback and I though it was a cool idea.

Yesh. The McCord has a specific application for that I think. Check out their site, then buy one thru BYUNSpeed, they sell them cheaper and with free shipping.

You work for Ceramic Exhaust? I didn't know you became a sponsor.

Thanks yes I do work for them. We do many other things, but but the ceramic coating was the only thing we could really sponsor for. We sell a lot of salvage f-body parts on ebay also.

Does the Borla cutout make the right tip stick out further?

You can adjust the tip in a bit, if necessary.

I love my QTEC and it has come in quite handy. Knock on wood, but, I haven' t had any problems with it so far. I just make sure I don' t try to hold the switch open or closed long and burn out the motor.

IMHO, I highly recommend it.

ok guys, just bought a 98 SS with borla. Owner did not give me any plates, well thats not really the problem, I just want to know where the plates are located in the exhuast to check what is currenltly installed, its not loud so I'm assuming its closed. I'd like to check anyways and find out where the plates are located, thanks. Scott

after looking the bora website and the pic of the system I figered out thats where it goes, thanks. So with the the closed plate the exhaust does not come out passenger tailpipe at all?? hmmm. I have exhaust comming out passenger tail so I must have a plate with hole installed...interesting. With the full open plate, does most or all the exhaust go out the passenger tail and not though muffler. thanks for help

You will get flow out of the driver' s side regardless, but most of the sound will come out of the passenger' s side. Well, I should say that the noise coming out of the passenger' s side is louder than that of the driver' s side, so you can' t really hear it. There is not really a way to tell, unless you have a really trained ear to hear what to look for. Even then, you would need another car with a Borla to compare to.

Anyways, the only real way to tell is at least loosen the three bolts enough to see the plate that' s there. Or you can remove two bolts and let the plate swing down.
