Default Car Tunned

Yes it belongs on the PCM side got no response from there.

Nice program.. I was at a meeting this weekend with some friends. One has his laptop with that software on his puter. i just had true duals put on so my SES light was on. he tuned my car for me..

No more rear o2s, !CAGS, AIR Pump, lowered the fans to 190* (need new t-stat) did something with my cats.. lack there of b/c i have an o/r x. he adjsuted the fuel that sprayed or something. kind of lost me on that.

so now i need to take out the AIR Pump, and get an t-stat.. which one to get??

BTW IT WAS ALL FREE

After discussing the t-state, when I was looking, they are all made by the same company, so there is no reason to spend the extra dough on the others.

Why do you need a new thermostat? These engines make great power when warm.

I would think that an LS1 would make sufficient power either way. If anything the different stat may cause a slight change in fuel efficiency?

a lower degree thermostat should cause a decrease in fuel milage due to the cylinders being cooler. the slower expansion of the air comming in (when it changes temp from ambient to above cylinder temps when compressed) will allow for more fuel to be injected to compensate for the increased density of the air.

to test this, get an old car (prior to computer controlled cars) and take the thermostat out...you'll get gallons per mile then

and that fuel thing he adjusted was your fuel curve...when your o2's take a reading they check the amount of oxygen that is present in the exhaust gases (if there is too much oxygen, then you are running rich; too little oxygen you are running lean). After every reading, the information is sent to your computer, the program analyzes that data and sends a message to the injector as to the amount of fuel to inject...

statistically the more readings that are taken, the closer the program should converge on perfect stoichiometric combustion (I think it is 14.1 or 14.2 parts oxygen per one part gasoline ?). The problem is that thermodynamic systems in the real world are not perfect...and there are a lot of other algorithms in that program that control the way the computer functions (ignition timing, knock sensors, temperature and thus theoretical density of incomming air...etc)

160* stat, they really run at like 185.

I ordered mine from Thunder, got it in < 24hrs with ground shipping.

so what do you think Casey? got the fans programmed and lowered to 15* cooler.

what is a good t-stat and what temp? 160 or 180*
