If it's a stock P&P unit like from TSP it a matter of detatching the throttle cable, the TPS, the other little wire harness on it etc etc, then unscrewing it, and you may as well do the TB bypass while you are at it.

As for the sensors, obviously make sure the keys arent in it or anything, you could even detach the battery cable to make sure it doesn't detect that you detached anything. Can't hurt you know.

http://www.installuniversity.com/ins...sity/index.htm look under install documents and it has both the TB install and the TB bypass.

ive heard that you gain 5 hp or so from a TB bypass, but (this is no ****) i heard some1 say that you actually lose performance in the 1/4 mile, so is that BS or what?

how would you lose performance and gain horsepower? this doesnt make sense, the only application in which a gain of horsepower would hinder performance would be a gain of so much that your tires wont stop spinning...

The only problem you might run into is if the TB is from a different year, the TB shaft might be smaller/larger. If thats the case all you have to do is change the shaft.

How would I go about doing this? My freind lent my his old tb and after having it ported I realized it wouldn't work. Got it on the car and wondered why the plate wasn't closing all the way. Touche tb.
