Default LS1 easy question

whats different on about the 2002 ls1 camaro intake manifold than the earlier years, someone told me something about it being an ls6 intake or ls2 maybe? are the intakes the same on all the ls1 f-bodies? what about heads and cam, are they the same throughout?
thanks
aaron

I'll take a shot at it for you... The 01-02 F-body's have the LS6 intake and do not have the EGR tube that goes through the front of the manifold. The cam was changed on the 01-02 for emissions reasons to get rid of the tube I know the heads are diffrent too. from what I've read on the forums the 98 heads suck. I am sure someone will add more or correct me.

Theres alot of differences between 98 and 02, different heads, different intake manifold, different cams. Check the stickies for all the specifics.

But yea, the 02's had an LS6 intake, whereas the 98-00s had just the LS1 intake.

I wouldn't say they suck compared to most heads but for the lsX world yes they are an underdog.

In stock form, there's not a considerable performance difference between the different LS1 castings with a very small advantage going to the 241's. They're all pretty much equal once ported.
