Default best way to keep catback secure. HELP

the other day i let a buddy of mine drive my car so i could get an idea of what my exhaust sounds like outside of the car. i noticed that my catback was shaking around a WHOLE lot. i got under there and checked all the rubber o-rings that hold the hangers and everything seems fine, but the exhaust is still shaking around way to much.

i even had a buddy drive behind me and he tells me that it is just moving around the entire time, his words, " Definitly not secure."

im not sure how i can fix this as everything seems to be in place.

any ideas???

Add additional hangers (SS/WS6 units have 2 more) and poly trans and motor mounts.

is there an additional hanger on the underside that is not used?

the movement wasent from the engine rocking it seemed more caused from the suspension movement as it would hit a bump it would move side to side and up/down.

ill inspect more closely.

thanks for the advice

You can always get new rubber hanger bushings...It probably just has too much give in the ones you have on there. You don't want that exhaust on there too tight or it will break a hanger or something if there is no give/flex to it.

Just get it welded. MY LM got disconnected after a month it was on. I had to take it apart and reinstall the whole thing, which was a pain, cuz the parts are hard to take off once they are on!!!!

Add additional hangers that have rubber isolators on them. They'll have to be welded, of course. Check out the SLP cars and you'll see what I mean.

Poly mounts will still help as they tend to keep the chassis and driveline, and therefore the exhaust, moving more as a unit.
