Default Will I need a tune with my new Long tubes?

My 2001 A4 formula has 3.23s and a Vig 3600 converter. I'm worried about losing bottom end with the long tubes. I currently get a 1.63 60' will the long tubes without a tune hurt that? Thanks

Long tubes will still gain power, but you will get a little more out of a tune. As far as hurting your 60', what are you worried about. Bottom end at the track wouldn't be a concern with a Vig 3600.

I am so sick of this "low end loss" longtube theory. It is 100% bullshit!!!!! Someone please show me a dyno sheet before and after longtubes where the after sheet has lower power down low.
You probably dont "need" a tune. Cant hurt though.

You will be at least 1 full point richer with headers so if your 13:1(with a good tune the last time at the dyno) then you will be back to the factory 11.7-12:1

Thanks for the info..so what I've heard (read) is no need for tune but would be beneficial to lean out motor from 13:1 to 12:1.

To get the most out of them, yes you need a tune.

Definitely get a tune unless you want your car to run really rich.
