Default Screw a Hooker

Man I bought one of those direct replacement hooker aerochamber mufflers(single-in dual-out) two weeks ago. First of all, it sounds like **** at WOT. Second I have only had it on my car not hardly two weeks and the inside sounds like it has just fallin apart,it rattles like hell at idle. I hope I can get my money back from jegs.

I'm not sure what sound your lookin for, but the Hooker is one of the cleanest sounding cat-backs out. Not to mention one of the highest flowing.

I have absolutely no complaints about mine & its been on for 2 yrs & more WOT pulls than I could count. Still not falling apart & my car is exposed to the elements year round & daily driven.

If it fell apart that fast maybe part of the bad sound was it coming apart. I get nothing but compliments on mine.

Well I liked the way it sounds just cruising around town. But the when it's WOT, it pops and is very raspy.

Well I wish this hadn't happened, cause I have heard clips from ls1sounds and from here and loved the sound. Which is why I bought it. It also seemed that I lost some power up top switching from the single in/out borla xr-1. Anyways it's coming off and I am getting true duals with a h-pipe with spiral flows.

I pretty much did the same thing with a 80 series flowmaster(just swapped the stock muffler with the flowmaster) and I was very dissapointed with the sound difference. It sounded a slight bit more aggressive than stock but not the difference I was looking for. So I went and bought a QTP cutout and my Z sounds pretty damn loud. Yes I drone when my a/c is on, and it may be a little raspy at times but I turn heads everywhere I go.

I loved my Hooker Aero chamber on my Procharged SS. I made 570 Rwhp through it and with the 3" cut out wide open I made 1 extra Rwhp and lost 4 Rwtq. It was a quick fix to get the tuning finished on the car, it was blowing the sound deadning out of the SLP muffler and plugging up the air/fuel meter every pull. I left it on the car afterward, I liked the sound and the dyno numbers spoke for them selves.

All cars and combos will react differently to different mods though.

Sorry to hear you don't like it as everyone has different opinions. I replaced my broken Corsa with the Hooker and love the sound. Don't really miss my Corsa much at all. I do have a QTEC if I want to be really loud.

Well guys sorry I started this thread, cause I jumped to conclusions. come to find out it's not my muffler at all. One of my brackets had come loose and was rattling on the i-pipe. Oh well The reason I figured that it was the muffler, I had heard people talkin about the insides falling apart. Now I can try and sell it, and not have to worry about trying to return it. haha anyways sorry if I offended anyone about the hooker. But I still do not like it at WOT it still pops like crazy and is real raspy. Other than that if I never went to WOT I would keep it. The true duals are still going on.
