Default O2 sensor fun!

Ok, How long does it take for your SES light to shut off after you have changed the O2 sensors. It has been so long I don't remember. Is there like 3 heat cycles or disconnect the battery? I can't remember. Plus I found out that I plugged them into the back ones when I did my clutch and left the fronts hanging. My boss was rushing me to finish, so I just plugged stuff in so fast I wasn't paying attention to which one was the extension and which was the rear connector. Car idles a million times better. Just wondering when the hell the light will shut off so I can go get my shyt inspected.

I think its supposed to be 25 cycles, but dont quote me on it. Why not just get a $50 code scanner from Autozone or something and clear it, then you'll also have a scanner for any future use.

disconneting the battery should hopefully do it... otherwise you may have some problems with your sensors

If you do get the light reset, make sure you drive it several drive cycles or the ECMs readiness monitors will not be set and the inspection equipment will not communicate with the ECM. I found out the hard way when I had no cats and my car would not pass OBD2 emissions inspection.

I'd reset the PCM, then do some drive cycles since you're going in for inspection. www.obdii.com/drivecycle.html

That was what I thought that I would have to do. Car runs better already. I just need to shut them off, and hopefully it will stay off. I will go get it inspected sometime next week hopefully.
