Default EXTENDED WARRANTY OEM Cats

For those of you who may have had a problem with catalytic convertor failure on your 2002 5.7 Camaro, I got a letter from Chevrolet advising me that the warranty on the OEM cats is extended for 10 years or 120,000 miles. Also, if you have already had a failure and had it fixed, you can apply for reimbursement. Sometimes they do the right thing.

I got mine as well. I had a P0430 code for cats in both banks that came and went a few times but has not come back. They rattle a bit so I am going to bring them in and get them replaced due to the recurring code being thrown.

I got mine today also. Mine came a little late because I had to replace one of the cats year before last. I only had 50k miles on the car so it was covered anyway

Just curious, was it at a dealership? Seen posts before of California people being told the original warranty was only 7/70 or less, instead of 8/80 under the original federal emissions warranty.

I got the letter on Wednesday and what is ironic is that a month before I did the LT install I got the code for a bad drivers side cat. Dealer replaced at no cost.......only 30,000 miles on the car too. Mechanic told me he has replaced some cats with less than 15,000 on the clock.

I don't know. My letter just refers to the 2002 model year. I guess you can call their customer assistance M-F 800 630 2438.

Hmmm...my letter just refers to the '01 model year - but it's different than the one someone posted in the LS1 section on camaroz28.com a few days ago - his letter said 00-02???
