EXTENDED WARRANTY OEM Cats

EXTENDED WARRANTY OEM Cats
For those of you who may have had a problem with catalytic convertor failure on your 2002 5.7 Camaro, I got a letter from Chevrolet advising me that the warranty on the OEM cats is extended for 10 years or 120,000 miles. Also, if you have already had a failure and had it fixed, you can apply for reimbursement. Sometimes they do the right thing.

I got the letter on Wednesday and what is ironic is that a month before I did the LT install I got the code for a bad drivers side cat. Dealer replaced at no cost.......only 30,000 miles on the car too. Mechanic told me he has replaced some cats with less than 15,000 on the clock.

Hmmm...my letter just refers to the '01 model year - but it's different than the one someone posted in the LS1 section on camaroz28.com a few days ago - his letter said 00-02???
