intake manifold removal

Default intake manifold removal

its hard for me to get to the rear bolts holdnig down the manifold, and i was readng on how to remove it from ls1howto.com and it says that i can just pull them off?? does this mean i dont have to lossen them off???

The rear 4 intake bolts are too long to remove with the intake still on the car. Loosen the four rear bolts and pull on them to make sure they are no longer threaded. Then, lift up on the intake and pull the intake out. The bolts may drag and make sure they are not caught on anything whilr removing the intake.

back sure you remove the hose off of the brake booster and leave the other end connected to the back of the manifold.. Lift the hose over the oil pressure sending unit..(tall sensor) and unplug it if need be.

I wish someone told me that before i did mine. ha

You can use a little electrical tape to hold the bolts up too - and yes, be careful with the oil pressure sending unit.
