Default Meziere EWP leaking...

As the title states, it's pissing coolant everywhere.

I found my leak to be between waterneck and pump body. Is it possible to overtighten the neck and cause this? I am going to pull it apart tomorrow and see what th o-ring looks like.

It's just damn irritating, I was all ready to take the car on it's maiden voyage with the new motor when I saw the leak.

Pull it apart, check the O-ring, and then apply thread sealant to the threads before screwing it back in.

Overtighten and strip the threads - yes. There aren't a lot of threads on the neck so it would be easy to strip the aluminum threads by overtightening.

See pics of my Meziere pump - there's probably three threads on the neck and inside the housing. The installer had overtightened mine too. I had to use channel locks to get it loose.

Good luck - and hope that the housing threads aren't stripped out completely.

It's the o-ring that maintains the seal - it might be nicked or cut.

Tip - while you have it out -might as well replace the thermostat and see if the installer drilled holes in the thermostat as well per instructions. IMO no need for a 160 - so I installed a 180.
