Hi everyone, can you tell me, what's the different between C6 and C6ZO6 cat-backs?? it's could be the C6Z06 fit on C6 or rather?? because the last gen was same, i mean between C5 & C5ZO6 so what about the new gen?

The C6 z06 has a butterfly system that opens to become a straight through muffler at like 3500rpms.

The c5 and c5 z06's were different as well I believe. The c5 z06 catback is Titanium.

The C6 is a 2.5" exhaust. The C6 Z06 is a 3" exhaust with the vacuum controlled butterfly valves. I would guess you can install a Z06 system on a 6spd c6. You would just figure out how to hook up the vaccum system. I highly doubt it will fit on thA4 or A6 C6 because of the transmissions.

interesting. does that mean the C6 Z06 is as loud as straight pipes from the factory? i can't see that being possible, as it would be like a loudmouth. it's gotta be pretty loud at WOT then bone stock, right? i've never had the opportunity to come across a C6 Z06 on the road.

When the valve opens, the "straight through" portion is actually a screen and acts like a bullet muffler ('cept huge). They are pretty damn loud (per videos I've seen), but not like a LM though.

whatever it is, that sounds like a really well-designed exhaust and one you probably wouldn't want to replace. that just may be a "stocker FTW" exhaust, which is pretty much unheard of for any kind of GM muscle/sports car. do they use an H-pipe or an X-pipe with the new Z06? for some reason i'd assume they'd use an H-pipe from the factory like mustangs, but corvettes sound racy like they'd use an X.
