If you measure the ID of a regular lid, they are right at 90mm. If you run a coupler and slip it over the lid, you'll have what you're looking for. Remember that the 75mm MAF actually sits inside a normal lid.

The TSP lid was big enough for an 85mm MAF to fit in the same way.

As mentioned the stock/aftermarket lids are fine. My SLP lid has an OD right under 4" so I used a 4" rubber coupler to mate it to a 4" OD aluminized pipe which then connects to my 90mm TB using a 4" rubber hump hose...zero restrictions and you can really hear it sucking air now.

I think we need to make a sticky that says all lids have a 90mm opening

The throttle blade may be 90mm but the outer flange of the throttle body is right at 4". A larger pipe will out flow a smaller pipe so why not make full use of the outside diameter of the throttle body and lessen the reduction of the air inlet/breather assembly? When the exit diameter of the air lid is approx. 3.5" or 89/90mm it doesnt make mutch sense to put a larger pipe between the two. Then I have my own theory that the pipe will only flow as mutch as the stock size filter will allow and the filter is more of a restriction than the pipe size? I went with the K/N FIPK on my new Speed density set up as I can run a 4" OD pipe from the filter reducer all the way to the TB flange with the only reduction being the throttle blade itself. I put the silicon reducer in boiling water and was able to stretch it over the 4" pipe. The FIPK also has more filter surface than the stock sized filter. Will it make more power than an air lid with a stock sized filter and 3.5" pipe??

I have heard of people picking up a measurable amount of power by simply increasing the size of the inlet before the TB but I havnt seen any real world testing.

having a larger opening in front of the throttle body is a good idea, but i dont think its going to help unless you got a stroker or some bigger cubes.I dont see any 346 needed it.I could be wrong but i will wait to see some results before i changed anything.

I hear this a lot, how is this true when they all have a tight tollerance fit over the MAF, wouldnt this make them all the same size?

Also, my LG lid acually fit tighter on the MAF sensor than my SLP lid did. It was sutch a tight fit I had to sand down the ridge on the flange of the MAF a little to get the LG lid to slip onto it.

I agree, all but the most radical of the stock cube motors would probably benifit little or nothing from the trouble.
