Default What point to go to 1 7/8's primaries

So I figured this would be a hot topic and spent along time searching but didn't really find the answer I was looking for....

Looking at buying a stainless header catted Y setup for better fitment so either Kooks or American Racing. At what point do 1 7/8's headers become benificial? It seems if I had a 402 it would be a no brainer but I have a 388 all bore motor that puts down 473rwhp on a mustang dyno.

I have a 90mm TPIS setup and good flowing TEA heads with a mild Z1 MTI cam shaft. Something like 236/236 585/585 112.

What do you guys think? Any similar experiences?

Bobby

Look at this. 1 7/8 work great even on this stock motor.
