I had MTI lid on my 2000 T/A and the fit was horrible. The only thing worse was their condescending attitude. Sell it on EBay and get a Whisper lid from Thunder Racing - Fits and seals great and the guys at TR have always taken the time to answer all my questions without talking down to me - even when I ended up buying some things elsewhere. Because of this they will get my business again and again...

haha, but seriously. I have one issue after another with all lids. Not to knock one brand, but they all suck in their own way.

Clear lid = sometimes they crack easier or turn yellow (ewwwwww!)
Other aftermaket lids will rub the bottom side of the hood.
Some of them can't keep the clips on. Some of them are just manufactured out of crap plastic and fall apart on their own.

Been through all the above experiences. Procharger...definitely.

Plus Torch'd is so stubborn when it comes to perfection he does everything 2-3 times anyway....Thought that I would help save him 300 bucks.

I had the same problem with my lid. You need to make sure the front of the lid tucks in behind the front of the lower airbox. If you try to have it hang over the top, the clamps will pop off. Hope that helps...

Make sure the lid is pushed back all the way and also check to see if the filter is seated right. My MTI lid fits perfect. It seals nice and tight and the clips are tight as well and have never popped off.

I had the same problem with my left clip, are you using the seal that came with the K&N filter? I wasn't using it at first, and my left clip did the same thing, it would clip on, then pop off. When I put the gasket that came with the filter on it made the lid fit very tightly, and the clips now hold very well. Just my experiences.
