Default let try again with a pic - what is this?

I switched out my TB last year with a unit off a 04 truck motor (orange spring). to find out the 04's do not have the same vaccume port that the 98's do.

Can anyone tell my if this will cause an SES and what this vaccume controls?

I jacked this pic for an example only. This is not my car but the port you see on the upper left hand side of that FAST TB is the same as the 98 but it is just not there at all on the 04 stock TB.

should I switch TB again or just leave it?

I capped mine off and the crakcase pressure started pushing oil past every gasket on the engine. And I know it was crakcase pressure because I tried to add oil when the engine was running and it blew the oil filler cap out of my hand when I unscrewed it.

^^^^ pooy. did you uncap it really quickly? What ramifications are there to leaving this off. Right now I just took the entire hose off so the nipple on the valve cover is just hanging out there with nothing on it.

My real question is should I get this taken care of immediatly or when I have time or even at all?

I am really not sure but on the LS6 throttle bodies that line is plugged off. And where that hose is going to the valve cover, that line is attached the air filter on my car. Take this info with a grain of salt. As I dont really know anything about your setup.

WHOA Hold that Drill!!!!!!! My setup is totally different than yours I would think? I was trying to give a simple explanation of how my LS6 is set up. My motor is F/I and I have an air inlet coming out of my airbox from ATI. It is not a factory peice!!!! And also have a C5 so I am fly by wire. If your interested in a pic PM your email address an I will get you one of my setup.

That's the PCV system fresh air intake line. You NEED this line. If you don't have anywhere to connect it on your throttle body you have two choices and the second isn't a good choice:

1. Add a port in the intake tract AFTER the MAF sensor and connect this line to it.

2. Connect some sort of filter to it and leave it vented to atmosphere.

You really want this air to be filtered and measured by the MAF or you will have a small vacuum leak.
