Default Tap end of stock fuel rail for NPT fitting?

Has anyone tapped the end of stock fuel rail for an NPT fitting? Is the thickness of the cap sufficient for a number of threads?

i havent, theres a straider in there that needs to be taken out, but you have to worry about splitting the fuel rail when installing a fiting. You can hook up a -4 AN fitting to the end of the fuel rail and avoid that.

Thanks, but that's not the end I want to tap. The question still stands: Has anyone tapped the end of stock fuel rail for an NPT fitting? Is the thickness of the cap sufficient for a number of threads?

I don't think it's nearly thick enough. Any side loading on the fitting would break the threads, and you'd have real problems.

You could have some kind of a steel adapter welded on, or just get some billet rails, they are pretty cheap.
