2 questions ?
I will be installing ls6 intake, ported tb,ls6 cam,and trans cooler.I have 2.73 in the car right now.How do you think it would pull from say a 70 punch.I will be keeping the gears till my 10 bolt breaks.I will be saving some money for a 3000 to a 3200 stall. Im still worried about the stock tranny It almost wants me to put 3.42 or 3.73 since I dont race much.my other ? is how much mph will trap speed be.I am going to take it to the track when I get this mods put in.Im hoping to trap 110 111 since its a auto.

2.73;s will give you a higher top speed than say the 3.23's so from a 70 roll it shouldnt be to bad, it will kick you down into 3rd. No idea on the trap speed though, that has a lot of factors. but when your stock rear does explode, some 3.32's and the stall would be a nice set up

3.42s if you don't drag race a LOT. I had them and they are a GREAT all around auto gear for our A4s. 3.73 is actually a great gear, but are a LITTLE too steep for daily driver use...although a lot use them. Beauty of the 3.42 gear is there are a LOT of them used, so performance per dollar is awesome.
As far as punch from a roll, it depends what gear you kick down into. I don't know the specs off hand, but 2.73s are a TALL *** gear...you'll have much better results with a 3.42, in almost any situation.
Converter is nice if you like racing. I don't like converters. Too much of a loose feeling, and say goodbye to your gas mileage. I like the stock powerband, which you will lose with a conveter. But...they are faster if you are racing...
Go to my web page and go to the gear ratios page. I have a link to a spreadsheet entitled "ratios.xls". You can plug in your AUTO ratios, and rear end ratios, and play with the mphs. That's what I did to create the gear ratios page I have on my web page, but that page is for M6 only...
