Default SES light, bad exhaust emissions, can O2 sims fix?

I have an SES light and I got it scanned. Bad exhaust emissions, bank 2? My car does stink a little at WOT and has a little bit of smoke come out, not burnt fuel. So it is pretty obvious my cats are bad, or going bad, I guess. So instead of getting new cats and exhaust, I was wondering if I can just use )2 sims to get rid of the SES light? If I got rid of my cats, I am sure it would be the same code? So the sims clear it so you won't have the light and pass inspection? I am not looking to dump a whole lot of money in, and I can get a cheap used pair of sims on here rather then getting new exhaust. Just want to make sure this will solve my problem, thanks in advance.

I would think that would work besides the fact that eventually if it's a cat problem they will clog. I would just gut them and have them put back on so you could pass a visual and have the code tuned out or just deal with it. But I suppose you could also try looking for the 02's or some replacement cats. I would do a search I heard something about GM replacing for free due to a proble m with cats on LS1 cars, check it out.

Yeah, I have heard about that as well, I could do that, I am trying to find more info out on that. I am going to sell the car hopefully by the end of this month, so it doesn't matter to me, as long as the code is gone and I get a decent price for it.
