slp LM2 vs flowmaste w/cutout. LM2 owners welcomed!
I have searched and have not seen much information regarding the SLP loudmouth 2.
my current setup:
2001 z28 m6 cammed, LTs, ory flowmaster muffler with cutout, and other mods!
heres my situation:
I'm thinking about going with the loudmouth 2 setup
reason being is I love how the open cutout sounds with the car being cammed, however at times it is a little obnoxious during acceleration if I'm trying to be quiet (cops around). So if figured the LM1 would be just as loud and too raspy. Here are my reasons for going LM2
1. still flows as well as a cutout, and sounds as good just slightly quieter.
2. its lighter weight then the flowmaster muffler and cutout setup maybe lose about 30lbs of dead weight.
3. all sounds and fumes will exit the back of the car and not the side because of the current cutout.
yes I could buy the electric cutout switch to open and close but the flowmaster muffler is too quiet and flows like crap. I feel its just not worth keeping!
so for those of you who have a cammed ls1 with lm2 exhaust or if you have heard this setup, how do you like its sound.

I have Pacesetters ceramic LTs/ORY, TSP Torquer 2 cam, Pulley, LS6 intake, and BMR SFCs, PHR, LCAs.
I'll be changing out that LM2. Sounds like complete raspy poppin ***. When you get on it it pops. When you let off it pops. I hate it. I want smooth old school muscle sound accelerating and decellerating. Right now it sounds like tin farts. At idle it's not half bad, but as soon as you start pushin the pedal down under load it sucks.

thanks for the replies. that is why Im thinking about going with the LM2, it still flows just as good and its a little less obnoxious then the cutout.... also I'm tired of hearing the exhaust from the passenger side along with smelling the fumes!~

The lm2 is a great exhaust. I am cammed and I love the way it sounds. At first I was worried about it being to loud because of all the bs you hear about the lm's but it is very tolerable abd has a nice tone. As far as rasp every exhaust will have that cause the ls1 is built that way. Once I got it back it was loud but that was a natural reaction after drving it stock for a year and then putting lt's and a cam on it. I have gotten nothing but compliments. Once I get some clips I will upload them.
