stupid question
#1 can a bad cat with a p0420 code make a ticking noise?
#2 if the front o2 sensors are not throwing a code, can they still be bad?
#3 if those front o2's are bad, but not throwing a code, can the cause the car to run rich?
#4 if the car is running rich can it cause minor misfires, and occasionally trip a p0300 random misfire code?
just trying to figure out some issues on my 02 camaro. thanks in advance for any help.

IMO if the front 02's aren't throwing a code, they're OK. Get the driver's side cat replaced free at the dealer if you're stock - maybe the "ticking" noise you're hearing is the cat coming apart on the inside? Sometimes they'll make a rattling noise too.

well i am going to get the o2's tuned out next week so i can put the longtubes on, i am pretty sure the cat is screwed from spraying my dry kit on there last year. so hopefully this will correct my problem. it has a stupid miss at idle, and its really minor, but its really annoying. so i hope tuning the cats out and longtubes will correct the problem.

yeah everything on the car is stock including the tune. i am wondering if a bad cat would make the car run rich. i think the cat is bad because it makes a funny tick noise.
