Default EGR and LS6 intake

Do I really need to get an intake with EGR since my car is a 98? Currently have headers with the extra EGR valve. Would I be able to use one w.o the EGR?

You can remove the EGR and get a block off plate for the header - just have to tune the codes out. With headers already guessing emissions testing isn't a problem in your area.

it really depends on where you live...

while that stuff isn't looked at during my emissions test, on the road, the random spot checks and cops that do inspections do know about that stuff and have the power to get you sent off to a real inspection station at the least if they suspect something's up.

I figure I can make the power and still be emissions compliant... if GM can up the ante each vette iteration and keep under the emissions radar, the "geniuses" of these forums here can pull it off too.
