Removing ASP crank pulley...tips?
A buddy of mine told me to use a standard small block puller to do this. Can you all offer any other tips you may have used removing one? Is it fairly easy to get the puller on it? Any special part numbers I need for the puller should I need to buy one?

Actually with an ASP puller, if you are renting the puller from AutoZone, you have 2 choices. The first being I think the harmonic balancer puller, that has 3 screws that thread into the holes on the ASP, just make sure they are all threaded in the same depth. If you can't get that puller get teh big puller from Autozone, and make sure you hook onto the "middle" lip of the pulley. Don't pull on the very edge of the pulley. The metal is a bit thin there.
And good luck.

Oh ya, one more bit of advice, once you break loose the crank bolt, take it to your vice, and just make a little tap with a drill, so there is a place for the puller to seat solidly. If you don't do this you run the risk of bending the puller (know from experience , I bent 3 in one night. after drilling a little spot on there, and straightening a puller bolt with a sledge hammer, it came off. )
