More XS headers installed and questions
I finally got my XS headers installed yesterday and I was supprised how easy they went in. I found it a bit tricky getting my Stage 8 Locking bolts in there but it all turned out nice. One problem I did notice was now that the stock spark plug wires are back on, the actual boots are touching the headers. Are XS headers known for being like that? Any suggestions as to what plug wires to buy and/or what heat protection sleeves to buy for the wires?
Also, I will be putting up vids after I get the exhaust finished up for those who are interested.

Your talking about the round metal heat shield around the boot with the spring? I have those on there but I don't recall them being long enough to help anything. Could you take a pic or something so I can get a better idea?

Here's a pic of what some of the wires look like.
Also, where did you route the front O2's to? I have my drivers side one running around the oil filter and my passangers side is looped over that wire that goes to the transmission.

I think I am going to get the 8.5mm MSD wires and put Taylor Fire sleeves on them. That should work out nicely and be a safe choice. Not being concerned with the price anyway.

I wouldnt use MSDs w/ the XS headers. Mine were close, but not touching and two of them still got fried. I went with the NAPA wires. They can take a lot more heat, theyre shorter so they dont touch like the MSDs did, and they have a lifetime warrenty so if they ever do get messed up you can just exchange them.

Hmm, I already ordered the MSDs. The part number was 17-32819 I think, from Thunder Racing. I am kinda dumping the money into the wires so 50bucks for the sleeves doesn't make me feel all that guilty. I just hope that with a heat shield on there, the #2 wire will be ok. Would you happen to have a pic of your NAPA wires on #2 though?

I have the MSD wires on my own car and was able to bend the boots so that none of them are close to the headers. The boots are made to bend them however much you want. They have been on there for over a year without a problem.
