Stock SS Muffler vibrating after gutting cats.
I have SLP longtubes & Y pipe, gutted cats.
Since gutting the cats, muffler vibrates/resonates a deep groan (does not sound good)around 1500rpm, especially when cold after startup. Sound mostly goes away after heating up, but is getting worse as time passes. Anyone recommend a muffler swap for the stock SS exhaust? What are the diameters for inlet/outlets? I would like to keep the setup without having to change the entire cat-back, just swap out the muffler. Would save some $$$.
Thanks.

If you don't want alot of noise under 3,000 rpm, the SLP Dual-Dual exhaust is a good choice. After 3k rpm, it gets nice & loud, but around town it keeps the Cops away. Very good quality, and definitely one of the BEST FLOWING cat-back exhausts out there.....Usually it's not too difficult to find a nice, low mileage used one for sale on this board...Best wishes. WJ.

I could substitute my muffler with a Hooker Aero Chamber Muffler, 3" inlet, dual 2.5" outlets. (Only the muffler), and keep my stock tailpipes?
And/or
How well would a Spinntech 3.5" or 4" single outlet muffler w/turndown tip perform compared to a dual outlet muffler?
I could live without tailpipes. I want go, not show.
Comments?

Cats provide a lot of pulse smoothing. Now the exhaust
pulse is sharper and stronger when it hits the muffler
baffles and something's buzzing.
Maybe you should gut the muffler too.
