Too much movement removing crank bolt. Advice?
Trying to remove the crank bolt, everytime I have ever done this before (not LSX motors) there was little to no movement in the crank. I have the parking brake set, car in 4th gear and when I attempt to break the crank bolt loose it seems like the crank will just keep turning (not freely it will stop but it doesn't feel "solidly" stopped) and I am hesitant to really apply any force to brake it loose yet. I don't think there is a problem the motor always runs fine, just want confirmation or warning as to how I should proceed.

Do you still have all of your plugs in? I just did mine last week and I got ahead of myself and took all of the plugs out. The crank would just spin forever. Put 7 of them back in and broke torque no problem.

Your park brake must not be holding. Mine felt rubbery but with an 18 inch breaker and 3 feet of pipe, the bolt snapped loose with a puff of dust. I can't see any way the crank would keep turning without the wheels turning unless you're not actually in gear.

I would think 1st would have the most hold on the flywheel/crank? i know when i broke my E brake i had to park in first because 2nd - 6th would not hold the car at all.

I was able to break it loose with a prybar and pnumatic impact.
