Default oil pan: ls1 to 5.3

I have read where these interchange, but the camaro version is not as deep, but carries the same amount of oil. I just purchased one from a member here, and it seems to be an old steel pan from an old v-8. Aren't the new style ls1 pans aluminum? The front of my stocker is square, this steel pan has the 1/2 round cutout for the timing chain cover.

Here's a pic of an f-body pan I found from google. Sounds like you definitely got an old SBC oil pan. SBC is on the right.
