Default What do you guys think of this exhaust idea?

I am going to be doing headers pretty soon, and I still have no idea how I want to run the duals. Anyway, I had and idea for side exhaust on my camaro and I think it would look pretty good.

I did a crappy drawing on paint but here it is anyway. The car in the picture is not my car but looks exactly the same except for being lowered.

It would beblack rectangular tips right in front of the rear tire. What do you guys think?

clearance issues, unless you use oval pipe...I just did duals on my Z and its kinda low and loud for my liking, but I will have to live with it because I'm broke.

This style of boom tube side exhaust is used in circle track cars with oval tubing. Used systems can be found on EBay under $200. They are loud and very low profile. Be careful about a used one because they can be very heavy from thick gauge steel and added ballast (metal strips welded on) because they offer an extremely low center of gravity.

It is not going to be straight from the header. I am going to be running cats and some magnaflows on there. I know it is going to be loud but it should not be too bad.

clearance is going to be horrible.

and it's gonna be loud driving down the highway with the sound exiting right by the window.

i say dumped at the axle...

Boom tubes rock! Dr. gas invented them I believe (also invented the x-pipe!). Check out his site, he even makes light weight ones with some built in baffles for street cars. Seriously cool.
