Default Help I broke garder spring and GM told me to get F*****

So I pulled the fuel line off my intake last night, and didn't have the quick connect tool. So my garder spring inside my fuel line broke. I need the new clip (garder spring), and the 2 or 3 O-rings that go inside the fuel line. GM is telling me I need to buy a whole new fuel line for $80, when the clip and O-rings probably only cost $1. I have called dealerships all over the place, and numerous parts stores, nobody carries this. What do I do?

Long story short: DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHERE I CAN GET A NEW GARDER SPRING AND O-RINGS!?!!?!?!?!?!?

I would but the thing is that I need it by tomorrow. I have to drive my car back to college on Sunday, and without that clip I might risk my fuel line popping off my intake manifold. Right? Or just plug and duct tape work temporarily?

you're talking about the the connection to the fuel rails right? or am I completely off? if so, I wouldn't risk just cramming it on there and hoping for the best. it's pressurized, and duct tape would have nothing to hold to. I'd wager you wouldn't get a mile down the road...also gotta factor in fuel + hot exhaust = fire.

No this is not in association with the fuel rails. It's where the fuel line plugs into the nipple on the back driver's side of the intake manifold.

correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure the only fuel connection to the intake is on the fuel rails that are bolted to studs on the intake, right?

**** I think you're right. Now that I think about it there is a connection that is not connected to the intake. However it is in that "area".

Problem solved. Just ordered a new fuel line from Oklahoma. That was the closest one to MN that could get it here by tomorrow I guess. Thanks for your help sixthfloorfreak in trying to figure this out.

Next time go buy the cheap *** disconnect kit & remove it correctly. You would have spent like $10 at Autozone for a disconnect kit.

And if this is on a LS1 the only fuel connection it from the lines to the rails on the driverside. 1 hose goes to the rails & the second goes in behind the TB on the intake(which just slips on, no disconnect needed).

If I would have had the time I definitely would have. But now I guess I'm wasting more time anyway.

You are correct it is that connection on the drivers side.

Next time, go to the auto parts store (a real one with countermen) and ask to see the Ford A/C garter springs. They'll be there, about $2.00.

I tried. I asked about 10 parts stores around here for garter springs. Nobody had any.

Auto Zone has countermen, but I don't consider them a real part store though.

Take a picture or find one and mark what you are talking about. I know you have a new one ordered, I just want to know what the hell you are talking about.
