Default Emissions headers question

I am thinking about getting some used PS LT's and y-pipe. The headers have the AIR/EGR hookups but I wanted the Race version so I don't have to mess with that stuff. If I buy these used headers what do I have to do in order not have the AIR/EGR hooked up? I can still get rid of the emissions crap right? Is there block off plates for the headers? Or should I just get some Race headers and be done with it? Sorry for the newb question.

yeah there are blockoff plates but you would be better off just starting with race ones

I have to say if I did it again I'd skip the middle man and go race headers from the start. But if you're getting a good deal I say go for it. And to answer your original question without putting in my worthless $.02, they have block off plates (got mine from WS6store) you can buy. Bear in mind the emissions tubes have been known to break off on several brands of headers when blocked off. What kind of deal are we talking about if you don't mind talking numbers...

Ceramic coated for 275 and custom y-pipe for 100. Probably could get them a little cheaper since I am local . Good, bad deal?

Sounds like a nice deal. But IMO, if I had to do it again and I was in your shoes, I'd either go right for the race headers, or grab the XS Stainless ones that are very popular now for just a little more $$. I only say that because since you speak of blocking off AIR and EGR, buying race headers seems like a more logical approach, IMO. Good luck.

Thanks for your help. I am just entertaining these because I can get a decent deal on them and I was not sure how difficult it is to block off the emissions part of the headers.
