Horrible Gas Mileage and rough idleing and driving
I have 1998 Camaro SS with LT's and ORY. I have these SES codes
p0131
p0140
p0151
p0152
p0154
p0160
I know they are all O2 sensor codes. THe car will idle rough, almost kill itself, then shoot itslef back up. while driving, it feels like its getting too much air and and bog nasty. Only time it runs good is at WOT, but when i go WOT if you look out the back you see a cloud of black smoke. Do I just need new o2 sensors? or could it be fuel pressure regualtor? or fuses? any advice will help.

02's are on the ENG SEN fuse circuit - something easy to check, but usually throws a MAF code if blown. Check the wiring/connectors on both front sensors - didn't know you could throw low voltage, high voltage and insufficient activity on the same sensor. Don't know what's going on...did it just happen all of a sudden or just after a header install? Don't worry about the rear sensor codes if you don't have cats.

yeah get under the car and make sure none of the wires are burnt. you also might want to try cleaning the o2 sensors with some electrical parts cleaner and compressed air.

No, i dont have cats, or rear o2's, so I know about those codes, and this started after the header install but its been about 5 months since header install before this started to happen.

Do you really think the O2's have gone bad in just 4 months? he said they are only 4 months old. I would hope they didnt get toasted that fast or there is much bigger issues.

i hope its just that. i thought the O2 sensors might have burned to the headers, and they didnt. im gonna hook up a volt meter to the O2s and look at the voltages. i wonder if the the one o2 extension i have on one side is messing everything up.
