worst case senario..

Default worst case senario..

ok this happened on friday i was torquing the head bolts down and well a bolt broke inside the block so i have to pull the motor out of the car, well i just ordered the qtp lifting plate and i was wondering if i can pull the motor and tranny out together or i have to take it out without the tranny thanks in advance guys

I think the motor has to come out from below the car...and the tranny can still be attached. Coincidentally, they just pulled the motor/tranny out of a '98 SS this morning on Horsepower TV.

I saw that too.

Yes the motor and tranny can come out together. People do it all the time.

thanks guys i look forward removing everything from the car now maybe now i can clean inside the engine bay..

quick question, ok im gonna pull the motor out this weekend hopefully and well i was wondering since my car has been sitting for at least six months how can i clean up all the old coolant that was inside the bolt holes??? any recommendations..

i think i might have to buy a shop vac of some sort hopefully i can get a good deal on one... but even though the engine coolant is a lil thick its still be able to blow out of cylinder bolt holes..

yea they re new gm bolts, i have to pull the motor out so polly next weekend ill messed with it i aint in no hurry!!! but i talked to a machine shop by my house, and they ve been around for a while, well the guy there said he ll remove the bolt and clean up the engine/cylinder bolt holes for me for 40 bucks not bad at all.

some good news i talk to trev from texas-speed god bless those guys, and he told me its possible but just for me to get the car off of the ground a lil more then a foot or so but thats no big deal but yea i look forward to this weekend and ill get that car running in no time!!!
