Default Converter Question

I just had my PTC 3500 stall converter installed last wed. After testing the car (not on the track yet) it really pulls alot harder off the line. But it doesn't seem to pull as hard up top. The 1st to 2nd shift with the stock converter the rpms would drop to around 3800rpm and pulled really hard. Now when it shifts into 2nd (or any other gear for that matter) the rpms never drop below 4200 and the car doesn't seem to pull as hard. (is this just me) It almost feels like the converter isn't locking up like it should and just slipping up to the next shift point. Could this be happening? (the MPH do increase with rpms after shift) From a dead stop if I stall it up to about 2000 and mash it the car jumps out like a wasp stung it. Pulls hard all the way thru 1st. Then shift to 2nd and it doesn't seem to pull as hard. Is this normal for a converter or does it seem like something is wrong? Thanks for all your help.

Ive only been to the track once and raced, and it was shortly after i got this car so my times arent real reliable but i ran a best of 13.5 @ 102 with a best of 2.0 60ft. Thats with the 3500 stall, shift kit, LT's. TD's, DR's, Ported TB,
!AIR, !EGR. Off the line it wouldnt hook up for **** but once it grabbed it pulled real hard through first but once second kicked in it felt like it took forever to get through it.

O.K. My car stock with MT ET streets DR's SLP lid, magnaflow exhaust and a basic tune from thunder racing went 13.6 @104mph with a 2.16 60ft. Now I have the headers and the stall. But since the headers my car keeps throwing the O2 sensor codes and putting the car in an open loop. I am going to get the codes deleted and get another tune. Then down the road comes the cam!!
