Smog with LS6?
So i was thinking about buying an ls6 intake for my 98 ls1. If i erase the egr from the computer and still run cats, is there any chance of passing cali smog? Right now the egr is blocked off and looking kinda conspicuous...

So it could pass smog without the EGR all together? I thought the ls6 blocks had better exhaust venting or something like that, and thats why they could run without the EGR. My main concern is passing smog.

+1 on the Technical aspect of removing or changing any equipement.. unless it has a CARB number or you get it re-cert'd to a new engine and equipement.
You would need to flash your PCM with 2001-02 VIN, which would not have EGR valves. It is possible to pass the sniffer test if your engine is running clean or retuned. Running LT would not pass the visual as you would either have no Cat's or have moved them.. but illegal to do.
