Default Just installed an ls6 intake

Well just got done putting it on a few hours ago. For anyone wondering if you should do this, I would say go for it. I know I can feel a difference, slides around more in secod for sure. Install wasn't to bad, would have been easier to pull the fuel rail but I left it connected and set it aside. Well all I have to do is port my TB and hopefully I can hit the track one more time this year before I lay my car up.

I just ground the bottem. IMO it's a better choice, I believe it provides better cooling to #7 and #8. Plus its cheaper.

Well I'm surprised you pull him after that but oh well. It's not like a massive difference but this is just the start. I still have to put on some headers and a stall, but this is all just to get the most out of a cam. Also the later cars had a smaller cam but better intake, where as the earlier cars got a little bigger cam but the ls1 intake. Becuase of this the power is right about the same.

I just got back from my first drive, finished my LS6 install about an hour ago. I went with the new pipes and I snapped the OPSU, but other than that it wasn't too bad of an install. Car felt like it pulled a little better up top. I think the power was better down low but it was hard to tell because it was 40 degrees out and I would just spin whenever I got on the gas. Overall seems like a good mod for the money.

Will the kit really make #7 and #8 run hotter?

I really don't know, in theory the ls1 setup should cool better. Mainly I did it to save money.

Nope no link. I can tell you how I did it though. I'm sure your aware of the ribs on the bottem. All I did was use a dremel with a sanding drum, although after a couple ribs I switched to a air die grinder with a carbide debur dealy on it. I did want to mess around taking it on a off to see what hit and what didn't becuase of the risk of breaking the oil pressure sending unit. I just ground all the ribs off so it was smooth on the bottem. Took about 20 min total grind time.

If you want to keep the factory style coolent vapor lines you need to clearence the bottem of the intake. The LS6 engine uses a crossover pipe in the front and two pipe plugs in the back, where as the ls1 uses one pipe connecting all 4 ports.
