Default How much power can I get form ported/polished LS1 heads?

I currently have an LSX 90/90, 1 7/8 headers, and a 234/235 .590/.610 (i think) cam. Right now the car puts about 405 to the wheels, on a bad tune.

My brother told me about a guy on here that will port/polish LS1 heads to match whatever setup you have.

So... how much HP can I expect to get from a set for worked heads?

Depends, not all ported heads are created equal...

I know that, just looking for a ballpark figure. I'll probably try to get everything port-matched too. I'd really like to have 450 RWHP through a Dana S60, but I don't know if heads and a better tune will do that or not.

Im pretty sure to get over 450 RWHP you need a 5.3 head or a LS6 head. Im not to sure on a ported LS1 head making that much power...

I think with a good port match and a good dyno tune, he could get 450rwhp, would be interesting to find out though, let us know if you go with it what your numbers are

its possible..i know a guy that put down 460 on a stang dyno with ported ls1 heads. The ports of a 5.3 head and a ls1 head are the same, the only advantage the 5.3's have are a smaller combustion chamber which will raise your compression ratio but other then that there isn't much of a difference in the flow numbers
