Default Should I.....

..change out my GMAF for a SLP 85mm maf?...what is the size of the GMAF anywho? Was on the car when I got it. I am not seeing the air flow that it should be..H/C should be 40+ lb/sec and I am seeing 38ish ...let me know your thoughts..

I say stay with the stock MAF; it will flow enough to support 400 hp. If you change to one of the others you will will have to be good with LS1edit to get it working right because the MAF tables in the PCM will need to be modified. Also, your engine will only get so much air anyway because the stock Throttle Body is a bottle-neck.
