How do mods affect gas mileage?
My WS6 is my DD, so I am interested in how what mods affect my MPG. I'm sure a big *** cam will only hurt, but how do a lid, intake, TB, MAF, !EGR(and other emissions parts), etc... affect your gas mileage?

well as far as a lid/intake and exhaust go they should improve your gas mileage, because you are actually causing the engine to worke more efficiently (ie. not having to struggle to pull air in or push air out of the cylinders)

^^that is true, but for deleting egr/air/rear o2's, it is up in the air...i've seen ppl lose a few mpg until they got it tuned or....they didn't lose any mpg....

i feel i lost 1 to 1.5 mpg do to the tune, not really the mods. i agree that with mods i'm alittle more willing to drop the hammer which could be the reason. i do smell more exhaust gas with tune. (i'm only at 13.1:1 A/F) after mods and tune i average 20.5 mpg. when my car was stock and i drove like a grandpa i think i got 23 with my A4. man i luv on ramps!

My gas mileage went up with all the bolt ons including 3:73 gears. (Gears didn't affect much I noticed) I was getting 21-24 city and 27 hwy. Then MPG went down when I added the simple Hotcam and upgraded the 241 heads to 243 stock heads.
