back of serp. belt wearing away after asp
I installed an asp underdrive pulley last month and now the back side (or flat side) of belt is wearing off,
I wipe my hand across the flat side and rubber shavings come off.The new pulley went on great, all of the pulleys line up,no wobble in crank pulley.I did notice that my tensioner very tight, past the last mark on the bracket. Any idea's?

Just one pulley (guess which) out-of-plane
most likely. You should be able to see the
scrub if you look at each pulley's outer face.
Underdrive pulley has less diameter, takes up
less pulley length, tensioner has to take up
the slack. Barely able?

It's not that the tensioner pulley has to take up the slack, there is no slack, I installed the shorter belt that came with the asp pulley ,and with the tensioner pulley cranked over toward the water pump as far as it would go the belt barely fit around the tensioner pulley.Once I got the belt around the pulley and released the tensioner it did not move far ,not even back to the first mark on the bracket.
