Default SLP Loudmouth "drone" note-anybody ever get rid of it

I dont really mind the drone cause I know that outside the vehicle it isnt heard...and the exhaust sounds incredible.... but that note at about 1600-2000 rpm could use a little quieting....has anybody ever "tamed the beast" . I am open to any options that do not involve changing my exhaust...I like the note OUTSIDE My vehicle

I've even thought about if its vibration related..maybe wrapping the resonator in some kind of high heat dampening material...

Any suggestion????

No modifying the exhaust, huh? Most people who have this problem (which is just about everyone with a loudmouth) do the "dynomouth" conversion by relpacing their resonator with a dynomax bullet. It sounds even better than the regular loudmouth.

Other than that, I don't think there's a whole lot you can do for the "drone zone".

If your not going to mofify the exhaust, sound proofing is the only suggestion I have.

Ive heard of people putting in the DynoMax muffler as well.

I just tightened my exhaust back up a month after install and it seems to go away. It only resinates with low pitch engine noises. What do you expect? The power and sound is there.

Turn up the radio!

Some people have replaced the resonator with a 5" round borla muffler.

Heres sound clip with macs and offroad y

The only drawback is the muffler is $200. but it is made of stainless steel.

You could add a set of longtubes, that'll definitely get rid of the drone.

Seriously, though, as others have said, a Dynomax bullet is the only drone cure I've heard of.

Here's another vote for the BorlaMouth It works almost too well - great sound at idle & @ WOT sounds almost as loud as loudmouth - almost no rasp and zero interior drone at highway speeds

I cut my tips off my loudmouth. It resonated alot more inside. See how far your tips are under the car. It made a big difference in sound when I had no tips on the car and the car exited under the car. You can move your exhaust back by loosening it up

what about vibration/sound deadening wrapped around the actual resonator part??? any body try it??? or know what I can get to try it....I'm pretty sure that is where the drone comes from(audio tests).

that stuff better be pretty heat resistant if your going to wrap it around the resonator
